Johnson VA Medical Center is located in Clarksburg, West Virginia is seeking a full-time Physician (Urologist) to provide comprehensive urologic care for patients within the scope of urology. Responsibilities This is OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until March 31,2026. The initial cut-off date for referrals of eligible application will be October 31,2025 with subsequent cut-off dates every month. Eligible applications received after that date will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available. Duties may include but are not limited to: Urology consultation for inpatients and outpatients. Evaluate and treat Urology emergencies in the Emergency Department, Outpatient clinic, inpatient ward, ICU, and the Operating Room. Provide professional services requiring full range of inpatient and outpatient Urology procedures. Facilitate patient access to medical care by recommending appropriate referrals to other health care providers in accordance with applicable policies and regulations. Responsible for being able to admit, work-up and treat either surgical or medical patients presenting with illness or injuries of the genitourinary systems. Evaluate the patient to assess any changes in the physical status, lab values and vital signs of the patient prior to surgery. Appropriate notes are written in the patient's medical records, times, dates and signed. Ability to perform minor and major surgical procedures. Responsible for providing the patient with risks, benefits and alternative treatments and securing the informed consent of the patient/family needed before conducting invasive procedures. Responsible for regular postoperative follow-up, patient teaching and wound care upon discharge orders in the chart in a timely manner. Perform emergency surgical procedures as needed. Complete all electronic, clinical, daily charting and documentation required by the Medical Center in a timely manner. Participate in all surgical quality/performance improvement initiatives. Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years).
