Strategy: Provide strategic leadership to socialize, grow, and advance the undergraduate Archer Fellowship Program at UT Austin. Represent the program in the Provosts Office portfolio to align with and integrate into the student experience.Partner with the UT Austin Archer Fellowship Program Faculty Director to align the programs academic components with the universitys academic standards and criteria. Partner with the University Development Office and the Provosts Office to explore funding and financial support for selected Archer Fellows. Provide strategic leadership for the UT Systems public service programmatic expansion efforts, including the implementation and growth of the Texas Legislative Fellowship Program, to broaden student access to experiential learning and civic engagement opportunities.Relationship Management: Engage campus partners across the Universitys colleges and schools to share program information and updates, enabling administrators to effectively promote the opportunity and ensure student representation from all areas of campus. Work with campus partners across the university to identify barriers to participation and provide strategic leadership on addressing these barriers (academic, scheduling, enrollment, funding, etc.). Work in coordination with the Archer Center and the UT Austin Archer Fellowship Faculty Director to identify and invite campus leadership to serve on the UT Austin Selection Advisory Committee. Facilitate meetings between administrators and undergraduate Archer Fellows after program completion to share their professional, research, and academic experiences. Cultivate and sustain relationships with UT Austin Archer Fellow alumni, strengthening ties between current Fellows and a 25-year alumni network committed to public service. Engage previous Archer Fellows and the broader UT Austin alumni community (Texas Exes) to develop strategic partnerships and strengthen the programs stakeholder network.Recruitment, Outreach, and Admissions: Oversee strategic recruitment plan to include students from multidisciplinary backgrounds and with a variety of professional interests. Along with Archer Center campus partners from across the UT System institutions, serve as a strategic partner to the Archer Center by periodically reviewing the fellow selection process to ensure the admission of students best positioned to benefit from and succeed in the Archer Fellowship Program. Support information sessions for prospective UT Austin students, encouraging students to apply. Explore and develop outreach strategies for first-year students to encourage early planning for the program. In coordination with the Archer Center, lead the student selection process at UT Austin, chairing the undergraduate UT Austin Selection Advisory Committees, guiding the interview committees as needed, and assisting in the selection of Fellows from among those who are chosen to be interviewed. Meet with the Archer Fellows during their time in Washington, D.C., to help them get the most out of their fellowship experience. Host a reception for admitted Archer Fellows, selection committee members, and department leadership for those departments with at least one selected Archer Fellow.Administration: Manage a budget to support, sustain, and grow programming and to alleviate student financial barriers to career experiences. Award campus-specific Archer Fellowship Program scholarships, which are currently available to undergraduate students. Partner with the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid and the Archer Center on financial aid and scholarship issues. Responsible for data collection and reporting (e.g., applicants, selections, scholarship, alumni, and outcomes) to the Provost, Archer Center, and other key stakeholders.Supervision: Lead, supervise, and mentor a full-time Program Coordinator whose primary role is to recruit, engage, and support students through the application, hiring, and enrollment processes.
