Description JOB DESCRIPTION: + Provide telephone triage services for the Georgia Newborn Screening Follow-Up Program at Emory. + Report abnormal dried blood spot screening results to the appropriate health care providers and make the necessary follow-up recommendations. + Following the completion of on-site training that covers the specifics of each disease on the screening panel and the follow-up protocols, the employee must have the ability to interpret individual test results, incorporate other pertinent information and make appropriate recommendations. + May require knowledge of caring for critically ill infants. + Ability to contact health care providers and families by telephone or email. + Serve as a resource for colleagues, assist with decision making and strategies for problem solving in day to day tasks. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, licensed as an RN by the state of Georgia and two years of clinical experience + OR Graduation from an accredited LPN program, licensed as an LPN by the State of Georgia and six years of clinical experience + OR Bachelor's degree in related field, Certified Genetic Counselor (CGC) by ABGC and two years of related experience. Basic computer skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Pediatric or neonatal care. NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed.
