Job Description Harborview Medical Centeru2019s 5MB Psych ICU has an outstanding opportunity for a Mental Health Specialist. WORK SCHEDULE + 32 hours per week + Night Shift DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Harborviewu2019s 5 Maleng Building Psychiatry Intensive Care Unit. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES + Respond to Code Gray alerts and other crises by securing patients, supporting staff, and following charge nurse directives + Complete crisis intervention/prevention training and apply techniques as needed + Assist with patient assessments, discharge planning, and documentation + Conduct safety checks on patient belongings and visitors to remove hazardous items + Participate in patient rounds, suicide assessments, and monitor for behavioral changes + Notify nursing staff of patient distress or changes in demeanor + Deliver court-related notices and assist patients with legal paperwork + Support patients through court-mandated treatment processes and advocate for their care + Provide basic physical care and perform tasks delegated by RNs + Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and document care in the electronic medical record REQUIREMENTS + Bacheloru2019s degree; AND one year as a Mental Health Specialist I, or equivalent; experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. + Valid/Active Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) or Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) with the state of Washington.
