Livestock Specialist - Montgomery City, MO Responsibilities Follow livestock research protocols and SOPs to conduct successful research projects Perform routine procedures, such as feeding, weighing, general husbandry and observation, animal health, and sample collection Collection of a variety of samples and data Maintain accurate and thorough records Proactively communicate study and animal care developments to appropriate team members Follow and promote facility safety guidelines Maintain physical appearance and operation of facilities Perform general housekeeping duties, such as organizing, cleaning and power washing of animal rooms Qualifications Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Animal Science preferred, but not required. 3-5 years of livestock production (with emphasis on non-ruminant) or animal nutrition research. Good working knowledge of animal husbandry and related health/treatment procedures. Collaborative team player High degree of attention to detail Exhibits integrity and trust Solid organizational skills Effective time management Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as team working abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and the ability to operate farm equipment.
