As a Counselor you will beresponsible for providing personal/career counseling for students toenhance student employability and to ensure continued enrollment andquantifiable success in the Job Corps program. You will identify andremediate student barriers to success and develop individualized studentcareer educational plans while ensuring strict confidentiality ofsensitive information and integrity of student data. Counselor alsoserves as Acting Counseling & CPP Manager in the managers absence.Serves as Acting Counseling & CPP Manager in managers absence.Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures nomanipulation of student data.Ensures student case load meets or exceeds DOL/Company performancegoals.Responsible to provide students with comprehensive and individualizedcase management ensuring student progress, retention and completion ofthe Job Corps program. Establishes supportive/mentoring relationshipswith students throughout their enrollment and provides personal,educational and career counseling.Provides ongoing assessment of student progress in Academics, CareerTechnical and Independent Living.Develops and updates student Personal Career Development Plans.Coordinates services for students (on-Center and off-Center) to ensurestudent retention and success in the program. Transports students asneeded/required.Routinely evaluates and documents student performance using casemanagement system.Contributes to the Center's culture by treating students with care andrespect, assisting students achieve personal and career goals andensuring students feel safe and welcomed during enrollmentProduces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accuratemanner.Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and workproductivity standards.Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet established goalsand deadlines.Understands and applies job knowledge to effectively complete allrequired job responsibilities.Proactively maintains the skills required to perform job duties.Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required bythe PRH.Provides high-quality supervision and management for the studentpopulation. Takes swift and appropriate action and positively influencesstudent behavior. Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds themaccountable for their actions and behavior.Provides quality programs and services for students and ensures thatquality is maintained and student needs are met. Pursues improvement andenhancement of programs and services.Exchanges ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clearand concise manner and contributes meaningfully to group efforts byoffering relevant ideas and knowledge. Provides quality and timelyinformation to DOL/Company when requested.Effectively articulates thoughts and ideas. Identifies problems,analyzes causes and evaluates appropriate solutions prior to taking orrecommending actions. Follows up to ensure prompt/appropriate action istaken and that problems are in fact corrected.Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effectivesupervision and services are provided to students.Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Direct
