Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team based in Washington, District of Columbia. The role is located in Georgetown and provides free parking. The role is 100% in office. This role involves various accounting and administrative responsibilities within a dynamic organization. The successful candidate will manage all accounting and financial processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping and efficient operations. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee the full cycle of accounting duties, including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger management. u2022 Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. u2022 Conduct bank reconciliations, manage cash flow, and ensure accurate financial record-keeping. u2022 Handle invoicing, bill payments, and expense reporting in a timely manner. u2022 Collaborate with external accountants for tax preparation and annual audits. u2022 Communicate effectively with vendors, project managers, designers, and clients on any issues around billing and invoicing. u2022 Manage administrative and operational tasks of the office, including but not limited to, managing leases, insurance, supplies, equipment, and facility emails and files. u2022 Maintain employee records, including attendance, benefits, and performance evaluations. u2022 Address employee inquiries and resolve HR-related issues in accordance with labor laws and company policies. u2022 Oversee day-to-day office operations, including supply management, equipment maintenance, and vendor relationships. u2022 Provide administrative support to the leadership team as needed. Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration. 6+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Experience with international banking a plus. Knowledge of tax preparation and compliance. Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to work effectively with principal and staff. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
