Rail Vehicle General Mechanic 1st and 2nd Class (0831, 0832)SEPTA is recruiting for current and future openings in our City, Suburban, and Railroad Divisions.Responsibilities:u00a0 Responsible for the inspection, cleaning, maintenance of rail vehicle electrical, pneumatic and mechanic equipment in our City and Railroad Divisions.u00a0 Inspects, adjusts, replaces, tests, assembles, installs, motors, accessory parts, vehicle trucks, parts, truck frames, brake equipment, truck assemblies, air equipment, gears, wheels, brake shoes, etc.u00a0 Cleans and lubricates equipment, units, parts such as compressors, air filters, air tank mechanisms, brake cylinders, etc.u00a0 Check equipment units, parts such as contactor tips for gap, interlock and controlling fingers and tips for wipe and clearance springs for compression and tension, etc.u00a0Qualifications:u00a0 Must possess at least one year of relevant mechanical and/or electro-mechanical experience with proficiency in reading schematics, prints and other electrical documents. Technical training a plus but not required.u00a0u2022Training at an accredited technical school or equivalent.
