Kitchen Utility Worker - Kirkbride Philadelphia, PA, USA Requisition Number 15395 Location Kirkbride Job Description BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES u2022 Organize dish room in such a way as to prevent recontamination of clean dishes and utensils with soiled ones. u2022 Fill dish sink/machine with fresh water and detergent at least two times per day. u2022 Scrape and rinse all items to be cleaned. u2022 Pre-soak all eating utensils prior to rinsing and washing. u2022 Check final rinse PH/temperatures daily and record on Form #66. u2022 Inspect all clean dishes and eating utensils for stains or food particles. u2022 Clean scrap strainers a minimum of 5 times per day. u2022 Keep soap dispensing systems full at all time. NEVER run machine without soap. u2022 Put away all smallware. u2022 Empty and clean dish machine daily. u2022 Clean dish dollies and stack all dish racks with dollies. u2022 Wash down walls. Wipe and polish all stainless steel in accordance with cleaning schedule. u2022 Clean and sanitize the work surfaces and sink before each use. u2022 Properly fill 3 compartment sink. Wash, rinse and sanitize all pots and pans. Follow the six steps to pot washing found in operations manual. u2022 Sweep and mop kitchen, delivery area, storage areas and servery. u2022 Remove all trash to dumpster. Separate cardboard and other recyclables into the appropriate bin. u2022 Clean garbage pails weekly. u2022 Replace garbage bags often throughout the day. u2022 Assist wait staff or line servers with loading dishes onto carts. u2022 Move carts to dish machine area and unload them. u2022 Wash off carts after each use. u2022 Put away stock. u2022 Keep cleaning supplies away from food areas. u2022 Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES u2022 High school diploma required. Other Qualifications, Experience and Competencies: + Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments. Lifting while turning side to side is sometimes necessary. + Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: + The work is performed primarily in the kitchen and on the serving line + Standing most of the work day is required. + Work requires movement in and out of store rooms and freezers + The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. + Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
