Core Responsibilities : u2022 Provide technical accounting expertise and analysis on complex topics across the global organization, with particular emphasis on M&A transactions and divestiture activities. u2022 Conduct research and prepare technical accounting position papers and presentations that clearly support conclusions. u2022 Monitor and analyze new accounting standards and regulatory developments; assess their impact and lead implementation efforts. u2022 Assist in the integration of newly acquired businesses, including preparation of opening balance sheets, valuation documentation and other support. u2022 Collaborate with accounting and cross-functional teams (e.g., Treasury, Tax, Controllership, FP&A, Corporate Development) to operationalize accounting guidance for complex and non-routine transactions. u2022 Develop, maintain, and align accurate accounting policies; lead policy initiatives and ensure global policies are up to date. u2022 Train global finance teams on select technical accounting topics. u2022 Oversee accounting areas including financial instruments, complex estimates, treasury transactions, and the accounting for acquired or divested businesses. u2022 Support quarterly close and reporting processes, including ownership of certain SEC disclosure areas and footnotes in Xylemu2019s Form 10-K and Form 10-Q. u2022 Interface with internal and external audit for areas of responsibility. u2022 Perform special projects and analyses as assigned by the Director of Global Technical Accounting. u2022 Identify and promote efficiencies within the technical accounting process to create a best practices environment. u2022 Develop a culture of continuous improvement, finance transformation, automation, training, and success in the finance organization. QUALIFICATIONS : u2022 Bacheloru2019s Degree in accounting or business related field. CPA required. u2022 5+ years of experience in a combination of public accounting and corporate technical accounting and/or reporting roles. u2022 Experience in accounting for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures is preferred, including hands-on involvement in all transaction phases from due diligence to post-close integration. u2022 Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP and technical accounting matters, with proven experience conducting research and drafting position memos. u2022 Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams effectively. u2022 Experience collaborating across departments and serving as a subject matter expert on technical accounting topics. u2022 Exceptional organizational skills and proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines. u2022 Computer skills necessary, preferably Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint). Knowledge of GAAP research tools, SAP, OneStream and Workiva Reporting a plus.
