Pharmacy Staff Intern

Job Title: Pharmacy Staff Intern Department: Pharmacy Position Type: Part-Time (Internship) FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Summary: The Pharmacy Staff Intern will support the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including prescription processing, patient counseling, clinical drug monitoring, and inventory management. All activities are performed under the supervision of a New York State registered pharmacist to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Duties/Responsibilities: + Assist with prescription processing, billing, and dispensing. + Provide patient counseling and education under pharmacist supervision. + Support clinical drug monitoring and customer service initiatives. + Maintain accurate documentation for pharmaceutical purchases and dispensing. + Ensure proper storage, packaging, and security of medications. + Participate in inventory management and remove outdated products. + Assist with pharmacy marketing and continuous quality improvement initiatives. + Perform insurance verification and claims processing. + Package prescriptions for shipping and coordinate timely delivery. + Support clinical pharmacy projects and other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: + Currently enrolled in a nationally accredited school of pharmacy in good standing. + Completion of at least one year of pharmacy school (P2 level or higher). + Registered as a Pharmacy Intern with the State of New York. Physical Requirements: + Ability to stand, sit, walk, and use hands for extended periods. + Occasionally stoop, bend, and lift or move up to 25 lbs. + Specific vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
