Description The CyLab Security and Privacy Institute ( at Carnegie Mellon University is searching for a special faculty systems scientist to teach and conduct research in the usable privacy and security and technology ethics areas. CyLab works to catalyze, support, promote, and strengthen collaborative security and privacy research and education across departments, disciplines, and geographic boundaries to achieve significant impact on research, education, public policy, and practice. CyLab is a university-wide umbrella organization that includes over three dozen core faculty and their students as well as over 100 affiliated faculty. New faculty members will be expected to both contribute to and benefit from the collaborative spirit that is a hallmark of Carnegie Mellon University and CyLab. Successful applicants will be appointed to CyLab, within the College of Engineering, but may be offered affiliate faculty or similar appointments in other academic departments.
