FTE: 0.900000 Shift: Shift 3: 3 12-Hour shifts 1900 - 0730, every3rd weekend rotation 3WEST is a 50-bed Cardiac Progressive Care Unitthat cares for a diverse range of complex patients, including those fromMedicine Progressive Care and other MedSurg units. Many of our patientsrequire advanced monitoring or an elevated level of care. RN's obtainspecialized skills to care for this population, including being ACLStrained within 1 year of RN hire. Specialties often cared for on 3WESTinclude cardiothoracic surgery, electrophysiology, advanced heartfailure, lung/heart transplant, transvenous pacing, mechanicalcirculatory support, and DKA management, as well as patients withincreased oxygen needs. 3WEST is an excellent place to learn whileexpanding your scope of practice beyond the ICU setting. Job Summary:Cardiac Progressive Care Unit is a specialized environment dedicated tothe care of patients undergoing intricate surgeries, procedures, andmedical management for a range of cardiac conditions. This role demandsstrong time management skills, critical thinking abilities, and acollaborative mindset to work effectively with diverse healthcareproviders and interdisciplinary team members. Our focus is on deliveringpatient-centered care that prioritizes the unique needs of eachindividual. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Clinical competence and experiencein the care and management of target patient populations specific toarea of employment. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Professional knowledge ofnursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired throughcompletion of education at an accredited School of Nursing in order tobe eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse is required. Upon hireany non-BSN nurse with less than one year of licensed registered nurseexperience will be required to enroll in a BSN (or higher nursingdegree) program. Acceptance into a program is expected within 15 monthsof hire and the degree program must be completed within 5 years ofenrollment, or 6 years if program is MSN, DNP or PhD in Nursing.Bachelors Degree in Nursing is preferred. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or aMulti-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (NurseLicensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Supportfor the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent isrequired within 90 days of hire. AHA HeartCode Advanced Cardiac LifeSupport (ACLS) for healthcare providers or an AHA approved equivalent isrequired within 1 year of hire.
