MCW's Center for Disease Prevention Research (CDPR) is seeking aRegistered Dietitian with culinary teaching experience and an interestin lifestyle medicine, disease prevention, and community engagement.This part-time role will support the launch of a new medical schoolelective course in nutrition and culinary medicine through CDPR'spop-up teaching kitchen at ThriveOn King in Milwaukee, WI. The primaryresponsibility will be to prepare for and deliver interactive cookingclasses using a licensed culinary medicine curriculum for medicalstudents. Participation in this role will also include covered trainingtoward the Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist (CCMS) credentialthrough the American College of Culinary Medicine. This uniqueopportunity allows participants to both teach and learn, strengtheningtheir skills as educators and practitioners of culinary medicine. Thisposition is ideal for a Registered Dietitian seeking a flexible,high-impact teaching opportunity to complement other professional work.This role is initially expected to require 1-2 late afternoon or eveningsessions per week during a 4-6 week course period, plus preparationtime. A mandatory hands-on training on the licensed curriculum (likelyover a weekend prior to the course launch) will be required. Thisposition may be staffed by one or more part-time professionals, with thepossibility of designating a primary lead instructor and a casual/backupinstructor to ensure coverage and program continuity. While futurecourse renewals and additional teaching opportunities are notguaranteed, the program's intent is to expand to other learners andcommunity audiences. Duties may broaden over time to include delivery ofadditional courses, community engagement, and support for programdevelopment and communications. Primary Responsibilities Serve as thelead for operations of the teaching kitchen, including inventory andsupply management, food preparation and storage, and oversight of foodsafety practices. Manage scheduling and resource allocation for theteaching kitchen, coordinating with ThriveOn King, Kinship Cafe, MCWdepartments, and other community partners to confirm space and materialneeds.
