JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Title: APP Outpatient Location:Milwaukee, Wisconsin The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department ofOtolaryngology and Communication Sciences, Division of PediatricOtolaryngology, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistantto provide care within the Pediatric ENT Outpatient/Clinic setting. TheAdvanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of amultidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence inprogram administration, patient care, patient safety, research, qualityimprovement, and teaching. Position Highlights: In this role you will,have an independent ambulatory practice working in conjunction with theDepartment's Pediatric Otolaryngology Division specialist to staffhis/her own clinics seeing new and established patients. The APP willwork in support of the specialists with complicated patients and ensureappropriate continuity of care for all program patients. The APP willprovide care for both complex and typical patient populations, whichoffers a challenging and rewarding variety of patient interactions. Thisposition would be based in Milwaukee with possible coverage at any ofour 6 regional ambulatory sites. Specialty areas include: Aerodigestive& Foregut, Cleft Lip / Cleft palate, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Thyroid,Trach/ Vent, Vascular Anomalies, Sleep and Voice. Core RoleResponsibilities: Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teamsin diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring pediatricotolaryngology intervention in outpatient environment as a member of theOtolaryngology team. Writes accurate and timely progress notes,procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders. Order, perform,and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, andappropriately communicates and documents information. Privileged toperform procedures beyond core as identified by the Pediatricotolaryngology services. Facilitates and communicates with patient,family, and staff to promote continuity of care across the continuum ofcare. Attend required training and meets key regulatory requirements,including those of the privileging institution, CMS, and the JoinCommission. Evaluates quality outcomes for the patients receiving careof this team through participation in the development of qualityindicators and outcomes dashboard. Acquires information on the mostcurrent development and trends in the Physician Assistant field and/orNurse Practitioner field, through educational programs, in-services,professional associates, and current literature.
