Job Summary: The Registered Nurse in the Centralized Monitoring Unit (CMU) plays a key role in supporting the safe and efficient monitoring of nearly 300 patientsu2019 cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status. This is a non-direct care position, ideal for a clinically skilled RN with experience in telemetry who enjoys working in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment. The RN in this role provides clinical support to a team of Central Monitor Technicians (CMTs), promotes adherence to protocols, and facilitates clear communication with inpatient care teams. This position contributes to the overall quality of care by helping ensure accurate cardiac monitoring, appropriate escalations, and consistent workflow. Job Responsibilities: u00b7 Support and coordinate the daily activities of Central Monitor Technicians to ensure timely and accurate telemetry monitoring. u00b7 Serve as a clinical resource for rhythm interpretation, protocol adherence, and telemetry best practices. u00b7 Collaborate with the CMU Nurse Educator to help provide training and reinforce department policies and procedures. u00b7 Support smooth transitions between shifts to maintain continuity of patient monitoring. u00b7 Participate in daily team huddles and contribute to unit-based initiatives. u00b7 Act as a communication link between the CMU and inpatient clinical staff, promoting timely updates and coordination. u00b7 Assist in reviewing staffing assignments and making adjustments as needed. u00b7 Contribute to quality improvement efforts related to telemetry and monitoring workflows. u00b7 Assist with coaching and guiding staff in real-time situations, promoting best practices and a supportive team environment. u00b7 Demonstrate commitment to Hartford HealthCareu2019s mission and values in daily practice. BSN required; MSN preferred. One degree must be in Nursing. u00b7 Candidates actively pursuing a BSN or MSN may be considered, with continued progress toward degree completion expected within five years. u00b7 Minimum one year of nursing experience, including telemetry experience. u00b7 Current CT RN license required. u00b7 Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or equivalent preferred. u00b7 Strong communication and clinical problem-solving skills. u00b7 Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. u00b7 Comfort with using clinical systems, telemetry technology, and escalation protocols.
