Fire Engineering Intern (Available June 2026)

The Opportunity + Provide consulting for life safety, building, and fire code compliance + Contribute to the development of prescriptive and performance-based design strategies. + Assist senior engineers to help clients to incorporate fire and life safety strategy concepts into the design and review drawings for conformance with the agreed strategy + Assist with development of fire alarm, detection, and fire suppression systems design documents + Assist senior engineers on project site visits and communicate with architects, contractors and consulting teams + Participate in internal team meetings and external client meetings + Adapt to working with multiple teams, across multiple offices in a multi-discipline environment + Perform smoke control analysis + Assist with fire modeling + Assist with dynamic egress modeling + Assist with the development of structural fire calculations + Assist with the development of fire safety strategies for special hazards Is this role right for you? Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Los Angeles, CA will differ. San Francisco Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in San Francisco, CA is $26.50 to $38.00 per hour.
