As Monitor Technician, you will set up, perform and monitor EEG tests for patients within the Epilepsy Unit. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience using some of the latest and modern technologies. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts, from 7:00pm-7:30am. A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Monitor electrophysiological data on patients in special recording rooms and at other locations using closed circuit audio/visual equipment, electrophysiological recording instruments, surface recording electrodes and electrophysiological recording instruments. + Perform long-term monitoring of adult and pediatric patients using closed circuit and digital audio/visual equipment and electro physiological recording instruments while interacting with patients. + Perform all functions of a Registered EEG Technologist, including assisting physicians in the reading and interpretation of EEG and clinical seizures. + Perform record keeping duties using the computer, maintain daily logs of patient status and report information to co-workers. + Compile and forward billing information to the work leader or supervisor. + Set-up for recording and stimulation of monitoring electrodes and care for patients with invasive electrodes and assists with head dressing changes for invasive monitored patients. + Assist with
