Road Supervisor u2013 LSU- 55323 Transdev in Baton Rouge, LA is hiring a Road Supervisor. Road Supervisors ensure all routes are completed in compliance with safety procedures. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety. The Road Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the performance of service and attends to all day-to-day issues regarding routes, customer concerns, vehicles issues and the Operator teamu2019s performance. Key Responsibilities: u2022Demonstrates and promotes a u201csafety firstu201d lifestyle at the location. u2022Ensure operators are fit-for-duty at all times and ensure scheduling compliance. u2022Ensures operator pre- and post-trip operating procedures. u2022Ensure on-time-performance specifications. u2022Prepares and submits required reports in a timely manner. u2022Responds to any service-related assignments. u2022Assesses safety conditions of all aspects of bus service and monitors operator and passenger behavior while in service. u2022Oversees a smooth commuting experience for Operator and the public and share u201cbest practicesu201d with entire team. u2022Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers. u2022Day to day scheduling, counseling, and submitting evaluation reports to local management. u2022Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports, OSHA reports and safety violations documents. u2022Develop and host driver training and safety courses; train new drivers and retrain drivers involved in accidents. u2022Observe drivers on the road u2013 correct safety problems on the scene while documenting violations. u2022Liaison between drivers and both the customers and organization in customer service concerns u2022Evaluate and monitor driver safety and performance in compliance with legal, employment and labor policy matters. u2022Assist Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance u2013 drug testing and recordkeeping. u2022Drive routes periodically. u2022Escalates issues to management team members when necessary. u2022Other duties as required. Qualifications: u2022High school diploma or equivalent. u2022Valid Driveru2019s License u2022Supervisory experience with hourly employees; 2- 3 years transit supervisory experience with emphasis on safety preferred. u2022Computer literate u2013 basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Workforce, Trapeze, and DriveCam. u2022Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. u2022Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason. u2022Knowledge of state and local regulations/guidelines, inclusive of DOT, FTA, and FMCSA. u2022Ability to interpret and initiate policies and procedures. u2022Demonstrate ability to identify and understand problems and to determine the appropriate measures it takes to solve problems. u2022Considerable interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. u2022Excellent communication skills both written and oral. u2022Ability to manage customer relationships, provide strong customer service skills and work in a fast-paced team environment. u2022Proven organization skills, understanding the importance of prioritizing effectively and managing multiple tasks in an environment with ever competing demands. Physical Requirements: The essential functions of this position require the ability to: u2022Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions u2013 100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations. u2022Sit for extended periods (up to 8 u2013 12 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces. u2022Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level. u2022Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
