If you have any questions, feel free to ask during the interview process Overview The Electrical Energy Engineer for the Development Team is responsible for independently assessing building electrical systems while performing technical on-site surveys and in-office analysis on assigned projects. Analysis will include participation in technical studies, investigations, and development of energy-efficient scope on assigned projects. Responsibilities Specific responsibilities include: u2022 Assists in the production of projects that are on-time, within-budget, and meet the requirements of industry standards & codes and client specifications. u2022 Leads, schedules, and conducts site surveys to determine existing facility electrical equipment, interconnection, metering, and conditions independently. Assists in identifying and preparing energy efficient scope of schematic design phase of projects. u2022 Performs electrical system calculations including solar energy generation, battery sizing, generator power system sizing, wire and panel sizing, electric vehicle charging, etc. u2022 Interacts in meetings with owners, clients, and/or architects as needed independently; prepares meeting notes. u2022 Designs and prepares documentation for electrical systems for projects including solar arrays, battery energy storage systems, electric vehicle charging systems, combined heat & power systems, central energy plant expansion needs, and demand response programs. u2022 Assists Mechanical Survey Team with necessary electrical infrastructure designs to support proposed mechanical equipment changes/upgrades. Can include design work involving switchgears, switchboards, manual/automatic transfer switches, transformers, metering, and generators. u2022 Assists all Renewables Team members with questions concerning electrical engineering design, codes, and one line diagram creation. u2022 Assists the development team in the coordination with other disciplines, including energy modeling, demand management, financial modeling, lighting, detailed design, etc. u2022 Assist the Director-DER with Quality Control reviews of project work by other team members. u2022 Attends and/or teaches in-house and external training sessions in necessary technical areas related to building systems. u2022 Participates in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities. u2022 Upholds company owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values. u2022 Supervises less experienced engineers, technicians, and/or analysts while managing specific projects. This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to the Director-DER of the Development Team. Qualifications Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications u2022 Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year ABET accredited university. u2022 Registered Professional Engineer (PE) u2022 Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and aptitude. u2022 Required experience in Excel and Word. u2022 Ability to communicate effectively with facility managers and engineers. u2022 Ability to work independently to meet deadlines while on survey. u2022 Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines. u2022 Ability to use technology and apps for collecting data while on survey. u2022 Passion for quality and client satisfaction. u2022 Effective verbal and written communication skills. u2022 Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment. u2022 Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors. u2022 Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary. Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications u2022 Prefer 5-10 years of energy-related client interface for an engineering design firm. u2022 Preferred experience with building energy services in the health and higher-education fields. u2022 Experience with mechanical and electrical schematic design drawings and scoping documents u2022 Participation in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities. Travel Requirements u2022 25% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location. Physical/Work Environment Requirements u2022 Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles. u2022 Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces. u2022 Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. u2022 Outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind. u2022 Noisy environment. u2022 Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
