Summary The physician extender acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, hospital, and office. Performs assessments of patients and documents according to protocol. Accountable for assuring delivery of quality nursing care for the designated patients in accordance with the individual patients needs, physicians' orders, PH policies, and standards of practice. Responsible for working collaboratively with management, physician, and coworkers to provide excellent service to our patients. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients, significant others and all healthcare team members. Education Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure/Certification Must hold a current Indiana Licensed Practical Nurse license. CPR certification required. ACLS certification preferred. Experience 2 years experience in a medical setting required. Other Qualifications Medical terminology and pharmacology background recommended. Essential computer skills and knowledge of electronic medical records recommended. Good verbal and written communication skills required.
