We compliment 7-Elevenu2019s existing carrier portfolio with a fleet of 200+ power units. Our 450+ drivers will deliver ~1.8 billion gallons of gas, diesel and ethanol, mainly to retail convenience stores and commercial fueling centers. Essential Functions of a Fleet Mechanic at SWTO: Provides mechanical and technical support for the Company transportation fleet; diagnoses, repairs and maintains Class 8 vehicles, petroleum tank trailers, medium duty specialty vehicles and light duty automotive vehicles; utilizes outside contractors to complete repairs as needed Responsibilities: + u2022 Ensures accurate diagnosis and effective repair and/or replacement of components necessary for safe, proper function of assigned equipment, including, but not limited to, electrical, brakes, chassis, power train, suspension, engine and other specialty items such as PTOu2019s and petroleum tank truck items + u2022 Completes preventive maintenance and vehicle inspections in accordance with Company fleet practices + u2022 Performs daily inspections of fleet vehicles; completes preventative maintenance and repairs any problems or defects identified during preventative maintenance inspections + u2022 Tests necessary equipment for defect diagnosis and ensures proper repairs have been completed + u2022 Responds to calls when a driver breaks down; determines if an outside contractor is required and ensures that repairs are made efficiently and in a cost effective manner + u2022 Reviews equipment repair history and documents similar repairs; identifies trends and provides tags/parts of repairs for warranty assistance + u2022 Maintains working knowledge of current technologies and equipment being utilized in the transportation fleet.
