11437BR PRS Facility Location: Lincoln, NE Axle Shop - 114 Job Purpose: A machinist is responsible for a variety of machine -specific functions -- from setting up equipment, loading materials, operating machinery, to monitoring and optimizing efficiency, maintaining machines and performing quality checks. A machinist will typically have the knowledge and ability to operate/utilize various machines to produce high quality axles through either our machining process with various lathes and end mills or through our plating process to refurbish. Job Title: Machinist I City: Lincoln Key Job Elements: LINCOLN NEBRASKA AXEL SHOP u2022 2nd Shift position (3:00 pm-11:30 pm, Monday thru Friday); $1.50hr 2nd shift dif.; u2022 Overtime as required; u2022 Operate CNC Lathes, Band Saw, Mills, Electroplate Axles, Finish Grinding, Precision Measurements and Quality Inspections; u2022 Produce parts for the railroad industry in accordance with AAR, customer specifications, company guidelines and checklists; u2022 Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with PRS safety policies; u2022 Monitor work to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements; u2022 Operate hand tools including buffers, sanders, and grinders to railroad axles; u2022 Use precision gauges and instruments such as micrometers; u2022 Complete daily production reports and perform daily inspection of equipment; u2022 Demonstrate the ability to work in a self-directed team-based environment; u2022 Perform all duties and responsibilities within time standards allowed; u2022 Operate overhead cranes; u2022 Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience: u2022 Knowledge of the decimal system; u2022 Use of precision gauges example: Micrometers; u2022 Capable use of hand tools.
