General Description / Primary Purpose:The ERP Applications Engineer II, under the direction of a manager or above, assists in the design, development, and implementation software and integrations to support departmental processes and/or programs. Recommends policies and procedures to ensure effective technical coordination of departmental programs.Job Function:Deliver technical support for University ERP systems, including troubleshooting complex issues across systems, data management, business-to-business integrations, and assistance with business process improvements and enhancements.Design, build, test, and implement custom apps, integrations, and enhancements for ERP, especially Workday Financials, HCM, and Student modules.Develop and maintain APIs, data pipelines, data modeling, reporting, and automation scripts to support cross-system integrations.Conduct business process analysis and recommend improvements that leverage technology to drive efficiency and value; consolidate and present findings to stakeholders and executives utilizing industry-standard methodologies.Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data models, and user guides.Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements, define use cases, and translate them into technical specifications.Participate in Agile/Scrum-based projects and contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.Collaborate with QA and business users to develop and execute test plans.Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend tools or frameworks that enhance system capabilities.During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.Marginal Functions:Provide IT professional guidance and mentorship to junior staff.Analyze work requests and break them down into manageable parts to estimate schedules and provide time estimates.Proficiency in defining and researching IT and business-related issues and formulating effective IT solutions to address them.Ability to identify IT incidents, resolve issues, and communicate status and solutions clearly to clients.Research software functionality, create testing scenarios, and conduct feature testing.The capability to efficiently fulfil service requests.Nature of Work:Engineer II under the direction of a Manager or above, assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity. Has appreciable latitude for unreviewed action or decision.Typical Responsibilities:Assist with the administration, development, support and integration of software systems that provide a variety of functions to the universitys business offices and academic areas. Consult with users to define and refine functional requirements and translate into technical specifications, leading to the purchase or development of software. Coordinate with client and/or vendors to insure successful testing, documentation and support of purchased or locally developed solutions. May assist in the preparation and delivery of workshops and training programs. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residenceSupervision Received:Minimal supervision of a verbal and/or written nature. Supervisor ensures that person in this position is aware of and adheres to state, University, and departmental policies, standards, and procedures.Level of Public Contact:Minimal external, moderate internal. Person in position meets with various Un versity personnel and serves on intra-institutional groups and committees as required.
