General Description/Primary Purpose:The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of North Florida invites applications for anine-month, tenure-track or tenured faculty position in Biochemistry, at the rank ofAssistant, Associate, or Full Professor. All ranks are encouraged to apply. We seek a collaborative and innovative scientist and educator who will contribute to our growing research and teaching missions.UNF is aCarnegie R2 institution, reflecting our commitment to high-impact research while maintaining our tradition ofexcellence in undergraduate teaching. The department is also conducting a simultaneous search in Organic Chemistry; scientists working at the interface of these areas are encouraged to apply to the position most aligned with their teaching strengths.Research Expectations:Establish a research program, focusing on biochemistry related topics,that actively involves undergraduate students. This will include continually pursuing extramural grant support, disseminating research results in presentations at professional conferences, and manuscripts published in peer-reviewed journals.We are especially interested in candidates whose work complements areas such asdrug discovery, disease pharmacology, bioinformatics, or computational biochemistry. However, we encourage applications with research programs across the biochemistry spectrum.Teaching Load:Four-six courses per academic year, with areduced load (two per semester)for the first three years.
