Job Description: Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Education Qualifications: Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fargo, ND Our Fargo team are seeking a mental health practitioner to join us in serving our patient populations throughout the community. This APP will be responsible for providing behavioral health services to individual patients and families across the continuum of care. Our professional, patient centered, and compassionate behavioral health providers and support staff are a source of excellent support and extensive resources. The Behavioral Health Division at Essentia Health includes physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and dedicated support staff. This highly respected and rapidly growing team has access to top-notch facilities that provide the ideal setting for candidates seeking a professional atmosphere for their practices. u00b7 Seeking a 1.0 FTE (full-time status); Mon-Fri from 8am-5pm u00b7 Practice will consist of primarily outpatient practice with occasional inpatient/ED consults u00b7 New PMHNP graduates will be considered u00b7 Pediatric experience and competence preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Interpersonal Requirements: Advanced practice providers in Behavioral Health are limited to the provision of mental health services, specifically for individuals experiencing symptoms of a mental health diagnosis and who are in need of mental health services. u00b7 Conducting health screenings and psychiatric evaluations. u00b7 Prescribing, monitoring, managing, and evaluating psychopharmacological medications. u00b7 Providing integrated mental health services in general health settings. u00b7 Collaborating with psychiatrists, seeking consultation when necessary, and referring patients to other providers when necessary. u00b7 Collaborating within the interdisciplinary team to promote behavioral health services on the continuum of care. In addition, the candidate should possess: u00b7 Highly developed analytical critical thinking and organizational skills, as well as strong oral and written communication skills. u00b7 Proven ability to build effective working relationships and to use tact, discretion, and diplomacy when working with others. u00b7 Ability to stay calm and focused in an environment of multiple demands and use of good judgment in emergency situations. u00b7 Keyboard skills and basic computer skills. A Behavioral Health APP is able to utilize advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. This APP will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. This position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others. In addition to the responsibilities of this APP as defined in the description, this provider is responsible for providing and supporting behavioral health services to individual patients and families across the continuum of care. Education: u00b7 Masteru2019s or Doctorate degree in a related field from an accredited institution with a specialty focus in mental health. Must be certified by a professional organization in order to exercise advanced competencies including (a) mental health promotion and (b) the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions. Licensure/Certifications: u00b7 Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) u2013 Psychiatry Certification of Added Qualifications (CAQ) u00b7 State licensure as either a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or a Physician Assistant (PA) with a Psychiatry Certification of Added Qualifications (CAQ) with graduate coursework in: o Advanced health assessment (to include both physical and mental health). o Pathophysiology (or neurophysiology/biophysiology). o Pharmacology and/or psychopharmacology (both preferred). o Diagnosis and medication management of psychiatric illness (clinical practicum) o AND have supervised clinical training at the graduate or post-graduate level u00b7 Current certification in CPR. u00b7 National certification in applicable area. u00b7 Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
