Posting Details Job Title Lecturer - Cinema and Television Production (Non-Tenured F1001A) Department COMM & THEATRE ARTS Position Number F1001A Job Description The Department of Communication & Theatre Arts at Old Dominion University, a minority-serving institution in Norfolk, Virginia, seeks a full-time Lecturer 10 month appointment (non-tenure track) with Cinema/TV production experience to expand the program in Cinema/TV production in a top-50 media market. ODUu2019s Film Program emphasizes students gaining hands-on experiences; the program delves deep into production in an experiential learning environment. There are approximately 100 declared majors. We prefer candidates who are writer-directors with the ability to teach directing, screenwriting and either producing or a production craft. Position Type FullTime Type of Recruitment General Public Type of Recruitment General Public Minimum required education and/or special licenses, registrations, trainings, or certifications Masteru2019s degree in Film, Television, Media Arts, Directing, Screenwriting, Producing, or a related discipline. Minimum required level and type of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities + The ability to teach a 4/4 load + The ability to teach hands-on production style courses in directing, screenwriting, and other production-related disciplines. + Knowledge of current industry tools and trends relating to your areas of specialty. + Experience in narrative/documentary content creation + Ability to teach a diverse student population that includes numerous first-generation students and veterans.
