Maintenance Team Member

We are committed to delivering safe, reliable service that gets our customers to their destinations on time - and we are looking to hire talented people with a love of learning to make it all possible.Roles and Responsibilities: - Inspection, service and repair of various electric components including motors, pumps and controls, lighting and distribution systems - Inspection of various electronic building components - Inspection, service, and repair of air hydraulic systems including lifts, pumps, motors, compressors and distribution networks - Inspection, service and repair of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment including boilers, unit heaters, air handlers, chillers/compressors and related equipment - Repair various building systems including plumbing, roofing and masonry - General building construction and maintenance, including working from 25u2019 ladder, aerial platform or scaffold - Safely operate heavy duty construction vehicles, including 5-yard dump truck, snow plow, spreader, aerial boom truck, backhoe and front-end loader - Safely operate basic construction equipment, including compressor, jack hammer, compactors and power tools - Clean up and debris removal of constructionsEducation, Experience, and Qualifications: - High school diploma, Trade, Technical School or equivalent, - Possess valid NJ Driveru2019s License. - Must be able to obtain valid CDL within 6 months of hire - Working knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, roofing, electrical and HVAC - Working knowledge and familiarity with electrical, plumbing and building codes - Familiar with the use of electrical and HVAC test equipment for trouble shooting - Minimum of two (2) years previous experience in the maintenance, repair and construction of industrial buildings - Must be available for emergencies as they arise - Excellent verbal and written communications skills - Experience with the administration of warranty programs desirableAt NJ TRANSIT you will enjoy a competitive salary and excellent benefit package.Job Type: Full-timeNJ TRANSIT is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
