JMT, is currently ranked #50 on Engineering News-Record's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.Position summary: A career-minded Hydraulic Modeler, looking towards advancement, is needed to join JMT's fast growing Water/Wastewater consultant engineering practice. The selected employee will be responsible for leading engineering hydraulic analysis, planning, and design for a variety of water and sewer infrastructure projects. The selected candidate will become part of an established team of engineers working on exciting sanitary sewer collection system and potable water distribution system hydraulic modeling projects in the Mid-Atlantic pensation for this position is $55-70/hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform computer modeling of hydraulic infrastructure including water distribution systems and sanitary sewer collection systemsPrepare calculations, hydraulic models, technical reports, and other deliverables for utility conveyance and infrastructure related projectsComplete hydraulic modeling projects using advanced discipline knowledge, client specifications, and industry guidelines using required modeling software and GIS toolsCreate, update, calibrate, and verify hydraulic modelsPerform engineering analysis in support of water and sewer master planning projectsAssess and identify collection/distribution system performance deficiencies, predict future system constraints, and develop solutions for CIP planning and design projectsSupport overall Project Manager by executing project management responsibilities for hydraulic modeling assignments, including developing hours estimates, scope, etc.Provide modeling and design status updates to the Project ManagerTrack the budgets of modeling tasksExecute quality control and quality assurance plans as provided by the PMP for project, and provide quality control review of project documentsDelegate project tasks to project team membersCoach/mentor design staff through the hydraulic modeling processProvide consultative services to the clients, including attending client meetings, providing timely updates, and developing appropriate solutions to meet their expectationsNonessential functions and responsibilities:Perform other related duties as assignedRequired ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program8 or 10+ years' experience in specialized disciplineProficient with hydraulic modeling, transient analyses, data management, and related software packages (e.g., InfoWorks ICM, InfoWater, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, etc.)Written and verbal communication skillsPresentation skillsQualifications preferred:Experience working with local clientsProfessional Engineer LicenseWorking Conditions:Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by n ise, dust, etc. within the office environment.Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
