To learn more about The City of Fort Collins and Our Community, please read Our Community and Our Organization Brochure Summary: The Facility Attendant is a part-time, hourly position working primarily at The Gardens on Spring Creek-potentially with occasional assignments at other Arts & Culture venues, The Lincoln Center (LC), and Center for Creativity (CC). This position performs a variety of tasks in both indoor and outdoor areas such as custodial/janitorial tasks, event setup/breakdown, and grounds maintenance including snow and ice removal. This is a frontline staff position and requires interaction with customers. This position will be scheduled to work early morning, weekday, weekend, and evening shifts regularly. This position will typically be scheduled 16-29 hours per week based on candidate availability. Hours and location may fluctuate based on event bookings, seasonal site needs, and overall event staffing considerations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Set up and strikes event equipment throughout the facilities (tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, linens, etc.). LC and CC events are primarily indoors, GOSC events are primarily outdoors. - Maintain external grounds and pathways including leaf blowing, raking, sweeping, debris removal, pathway area weeding, emptying waste and recycling, wiping surfaces, snow/ice removal, and similar duties. - Clean all surfaces within the facilities (toilets, floors, furniture, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, theatres, dressing room, etc.) both on a regular basis and before/after events and performances. - During events, monitor event areas and maintain tidiness for patrons as needed, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, attending to trash/recycle and restrooms, wiping down surfaces and similar custodial and janitorial duties. - Collect and properly disposes of waste, recycling, and compost materials. - Assist with setup and tear down of external holiday lighting and dcor at GOSC, including troubleshooting electrical and lighting app technology. - Perform basic maintenance, repair, inventory, and troubleshooting of chairs, tables, sign frames, and other event equipment or supplies, including surface repairs throughout the facility and/or submitting Work Requests for significant/unresolvable damages. - Communicate availability up to 30 days in advance. - Perform work without direct supervision in a fast-paced environment with ability to identify & prioritiz daily duties and unexpected challenges. - Function both independently and as a member of a team, working collaboratively with coworkers to execute maintenance and setup duties. - Monitor kitchen safety and safe food handling when caterers are present. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is not responsible for the supervision of employees. Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the necessary functions of this position. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Work non-business, variable hours based on facility needs. Shifts may vary from 5am-2am on any given day.
