Patient Account Representative

Description Requirements: + High school graduate/GED required. College degree in finance preferred. + Certified Patient Account Specialist Certification and/or Certified Healthcare Collector Certification preferred + A minimum of 2 yearsu2019 business office experience. + Previous experience in a business office within a hospital environment preferred or transferable skills from other fields + Previous experience in a business office within a substance abuse and/or psychiatric hospital preferred. + Must have an acceptable background check and credit report + A minimum of 2 yearsu2019 experience with 3rd party billing and collection experience + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Ability to work with male and female, adult (18-over) substance abuse/dually diagnosed population Job Duties/Responsibilities: + Completes insurance verification for patients accurately and within 20 minutes of notification + Accurately posts payments to patient accounts daily. + Completes adjustments accurately based on payments and information received + Processes all mail and related correspondence within 72 hours of receipt. + Maintains collection notes for assigned accounts in a clear and concise manner. + Performs timely follow up with insurance company and/or responsible party and continuing until account is resolved to a zero balance while properly documenting account. + Keeps Business Office Director informed of any problem areas i.e. trends in payment practices of insurance companies and private accounts. + All other duties as assigned BENEFITS + UMR Health Insurance (3 plans to choose from, eligible after 30 days of employment) + Delta Dental (2 plans to choose from) + VSP Vision Insurance + Paid life and AD&D insurance + 401k with a matching contribution + Paid Vacation/Sick/Extended Sick/Personal/Holiday time + Paid Short term + Long term disability + License/certification renewal and CEU reimbursement + Free meals + Employee Discount program + Employee Fun events + Annual performance review and Merit increase review + Salary increases for obtaining education degrees, professional certification and/or licensure (based on program of study/field of certification and licensure) + License/Certification renewal and CEU reimbursement For the 5th consecutive year, Wilmington Treatment Center has been recognized by Newsweek magazine as one of the best Addiction Treatment Centers in the US.
