This position is responsible for modifying, repairing, and tailoring garments to meet customers' specific needs and preferences. The ideal candidate is experienced in sewing and tailoring, takes pride in their craftsmanship, and enjoys working directly with clients to ensure every garment fits perfectly.Qualifications:- High School Diploma or equivalent- Formal training in sewing or tailoring: Courses from vocational schools, community colleges, or fashion institutes can be highly beneficial.- Experience: Previous experience in alterations, tailoring, or a related field is often preferred.- Knowledge of fabrics and textiles: Understanding different types of materials and how they behave is crucial.- Proficient sewing skills: Both machine and hand sewing.- Attention to detail: Precision is key in ensuring a perfect fit.- Customer service skills: Ability to effectively communicate with clients and understand their needs.- Time management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.- Problem-solving skills: Ability to address and fix garment issues creatively.- Manual dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and steady hands. Job Responsibilities:- Client Consultations: Meet with customers to understand their alteration needs and preferences.- Measurements and Marking: Take accurate measurements and mark garments to prepare for alterations.- Sewing and Repairs: Perform alterations using sewing machines and hand stitching; repair tears, adjust hems, replace zippers, and modify linings.- Quality Assurance: Ensure all garments meet company quality standards and customer expectations.- Communication: Keep clients informed of progress and any necessary adjustments or recommendations.- Time Management: Complete all alterations within established timelines.- Workspace Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.- Inventory Support: Monitor and restock sewing materials and supplies as needed.
