Shop Technician Trainee-NBU Heavy Equipment Location: Fresno, CA, US, 93725Sacramento, CA, US, 95826 Position Type: Professional Transport is at the core of modern society. This is an entry level position with a 3-year training plan to move onto being a shop and/or field technician. Trainee is responsible for assisting in mechanical repairs and services on full line of heavy equipment and attachments. The trainee will assist with maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on the full line of Volvo Construction Equipment machinery and/or related equipment brands to increase equipment knowledge. This includes equipment components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and computers, electrical and structural repairs including welding. Additional duties include the ability to provide consistent communication with customers, vendors, internal and external staff. u2022 This position will champion a u201cSafety Firstu201d, u201cCustomer Focusedu201d and a u201cContinuous improvementu201d culture. u2022 Enforce and adhere to all company policies, procedures, standards, and values. u2022 Maintain excellent customer and employee relations. u2022 Work safely at all times. Main Tasks/ Responsibilities: u2022 Assist shop/field technicians with repair jobs as needed. u2022 Attend training classes when assigned to increase equipment knowledge. u2022 Service and repair work for this position will only be performed under close supervision. u2022 Some knowledge in diagnosing, testing and repairing heavy equipment and related machinery. u2022 Some understanding of basic repair diagrams and schematics. u2022 Ability to work on or around heavy construction equipment, which requires climbing and accessing hard to reach areas. u2022 Consistent follow through on all job facets. u2022 Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position: u2022 High School diploma or GED. u2022 Minimum of 2 yearsu2019 experience working on construction, automotive, agriculture, or mechanical related equipment. u2022 Prior experience in the construction equipment industry preferred. u2022 Possesses a valid driveru2019s license and a clean driving record. u2022 Must possess a set of tools sufficient to perform the job as required. u2022 Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction. u2022 Willingly accepts responsibility and is flexible to any assignment. u2022 Willingly works over time when needed to complete an assigned task. Additional Important Requirements: u2022 Requires prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing and frequent stooping, bending, crouching, and overhead reaching, with occasional climbing of stairs and steps or stepladder. u2022 Requires occasional lifting, pulling, caring, or pushing objects or materials, over 50lbs; and may frequently lifting, pulling, caring, or pushing objects or materials, up to 30lbs. u2022 May occasionally work around loud, noisy, and dusty equipment and environment. u2022 Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers. u2022 Must be able to safely and properly handle, pneumatic and electric tools. For this position, the base pay is set at $19.00 - $23.00/ hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
