Scope of Practice: Occupational Health + Urgent CareResponsibilities Administers prescribed medications and treatments inaccordance with approved nursing techniques and protocols. Observes andevaluates patient, records condition and reaction to drugs, treatments,and significant incidents Evaluates outcome of patient care Performsphysical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribedguidelines and instructions of physician. May direct nursing carethrough nursing staff Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms oftreatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy or relatedtherapeutic procedures. Arranges referrals, consultations, therapeuticservices and confers with other specialists on course of care andtreatment. Draws blood and prepares appropriate paperwork for laboratorypick-up. Performs urine drug screens, using proper chain of custody;ensures preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratory.Assists in medical record maintenance by keeping health, administrative,and program records onsite, safeguarding confidentiality of employeehealth information. Dispenses medications as directed by practitionerand in accordance with state regulations. Maintains and operates allclinical equipment, including calibration and record keeping inaccordance with current policy and procedures.
