Essential functions (job duties): The Department of Finance at Wayne State Universityu2019s Mike Ilitch School of Business is seeking to fill a non-tenure tack Assistant Professor (Teaching) or an Instructor (Teaching) position starting Fall 2026. + u00b7 Teach 4 courses (per semester) undergraduate/graduate courses in Finance Department. + u00b7 Manage assessment and Student progress with a Learning Management System (Canvas). + u00b7 Maintain and adapt curriculum that is current, effective, and appropriate to course and program competencies. + u00b7 Instruct students in a classroom, online (both synchronous and asynchronous modes) and/or hybrid setting. + u00b7 Provide meaningful service to the College and University. Qualifications: u00b7 Ph.D. in Finance or a related field to be hired as an Assistant Professor (Teaching). u00b7 A minimum of graduate degree in Finance to be hired as an instructor (Teaching). u00b7 Doctoral students in their final year will be considered but must complete their Ph.D. by August 2026 . u00b7 Candidates with some experience teaching at the college level. Preferred qualifications: u2022 We have a strong preference for those with a doctoral degree. u2022 A candidate without a doctoral degree will be hired as an instructor as per the institutional rules. u2022 A candidate with the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). u2022 The candidate must possess the qualifications necessary to be designated as a qualified faculty member in accordance with AACSB standard. u2022 Candidates who have taught or are interested in teaching Fixed Income Securities, Futures and Options, and a course in Data Analytics. u2022 Candidates who could serve as course coordinator for a core MBA course in the Finance Department. u2022 Candidates who could serve as the departmentu2019s career coach. u2022 Candidates who could serve as the liaison with the industry.
