School Based Therapist

Level Experienced Position Type Full Time Education Level Graduate Degree Category Nonprofit - Social Services Description POSITION SUMMARY: This School Based Therapist is responsible for providing direct clinical and therapeutic services and interventions to the children, youth, and families in our partner districts. Services are delivered in either the public outpatient or homebased level of care, within a school based setting. Mental health wellness & education, participation on multi-disciplinary teams and group facilitation is also required within this role. u00a0 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: + Must meet criteria as a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) + Masteru2019s degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited school required + Trained and has one year of experience in the examination, evaluation and treatment of minors and their families + Current valid professional license/certification in the State of Michigan + Current valid driver's license + Clinical knowledge, comprehensive assessment skills and experience related to the coordinator and delivery of mental health and co-occurring services to children and families u00a0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Assist Partner District in design and implementation of a school based mental health education and service delivery model. + Provide and facilitate prevention services and interventions for students in crisis. + Offer quarterly professional development presentations for school teachers/administration and parents + Conduct psycho-educational and treatment groups on topics identified jointly with school personnel. + Provide individual, group and family treatment to assigned clients. + Provide and facilitate referrals to higher levels of care or more intensive interventions if necessary. + Development and implementation of Individual Plan of Service utilizing Person Centered Planning. + Maintain clinical charts in an accurate and timely manner to include, but not limited to assessments, treatment plans, and all other MDHHS chart requirements. u00a0 LICENSING AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: + Valid driveru2019s license and / or reliable transportation. u00a0 u00a0 Starfish Family Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer EOE/M/F/D/V
