PC Technician Job Category: Technician Requisition Number: PCTEC001104Full-Time Hybrid Springfield, MA 01103, USA Minimum Requirements:Associates' degree in Computer Science or Engineering or High SchoolDiploma and 2 years equivalent work experience. Ability to install,configure, and maintain personal computers, networks and relatedhardware and software. Self-initiative and motivation to work withoutrequiring strict supervision. Good oral and written communicationskills. Ability to communicate with and understand the needs ofnon-technical internal customers. Ability to work independently and witha team. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Identify, diagnose andresolve pc/network problems Respond to Help Desk tickets in a timelymanner. Investigate user problems, identify their source, determinepossible solutions, test and implement solutions. Install, configure,and maintain personal computers, data networks, Windows workstations,file servers, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, andsystems; adds or upgrades and configures modems, disk drives, CD ROMunits, printers, and related equipment. Troubleshoot systems, andapplications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operationaldifficulties. Creates and maintain comprehensive documentation for allinstallation/trouble-shooting procedures Develop and conduct varioustraining and instruction for system users on operating systems,relational databases, and other applications; assist users in maximizinguse of networks and computing systems. Establish and perform maintenanceprograms following company and vendor standards. Ensure timely usernotification of maintenance requirements and effects on systemavailability. Maintain confidentiality with regard to the informationbeing processed, stored or accessed by the network. Document networkproblems and resolutions for future reference. Develop and maintaindocumentation for computer programs and network systems. Other duties asassigned. Physical Requirements: This position requires full range ofbody motion including handling and lifting computer equipment, manualand finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires sitting,standing and walking for prolonged periods of time Requires normal rangeof hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriateforms and reports. Salary ranges from $26 - $34.94
