Olgoonik is an Equal Opportunity EmployerOverview:The UXO Technician III conducts munitions and explosives of concern related activies which may include munitions responses to MEC, operational range clearance-related activities, and similar operations that involve intentional physical contact with MEC.u00a0These activities may also include determination and documentation of the explosives safety status of material potentially presenting, and explosives hazard to be transferred within or released from DOD control.IMPORTANT:u00a0FPM Remediations, Inc. is an 8(a) HUBZone business certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA). FPMR employees who live in a HUBZone, may be eligible to receive additional earnings paid on a bi-weekly basis. These additional earnings will be paid following verification and provision of supporting documents. The HUBZone earnings will continue to be paid if residency in a HUBZone is maintained.Primary Responsibilities:Performs reconnaissance and classification of UXO, identifying U.S. and foreign-guided missiles, bombs and bomb fuzes, projectiles and projectile fuzes, grenades and grenades fuzes, rockets and rocket fuzes, land mines and associated components, pyrotechnics, military, explosives, and demolition materials.Supervises the location of subsurface UXO using military and/or civilian magnetometers.Supervises,the excavation and recovery of subsurface UXO,the construction of UXO-related protective works,the location of surface UXO by visual means,the transportation and storage of UXO, assuring compliance with federal, State, and local laws,the disposal of UXO by burning and detonation,the preparation of a UXO disposal site, andthe preparation of an on-site safe holding area for UXO.Determines UXO-related storage compatibility.Prepares an explosives storage plan.Supervises donning and doffing of PPE, operation of a personnel decontamination station, and maintenance and operator checks on all team equipment.Prepares UXO-related administrative reports and standard operating procedures.Conducts daily team safety briefings.Supervises segregation of UXO-related scrap from non-UXO-related scrap, safe-handling procedures, team preventive medicine, and field sanitation procedures.Performs risk hazard analysis and interprets x-ray of UXO.Supervises field expedient identification procedures to identify explosives contaminated soil, the determining of a magnetic azimuth using a lensatic compass, emergency leak sealing, and packaging of chemical warfare material.Implements assignments in accordance with health and safety and quality control requirements.Takes ownership of assignments, sees them through to completion, and meets internal deadlines.Adheres to project-specific safety policies.Executes field activities, records and maintains adequate documentation.Performs field maintenance and calibration checks on geophysical detection instruments and related equipment as needed.Supervisory Responsibilities:N/AEducation and/or Experience:Graduate of a military EOD School of the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, or Australia.Graduate of a UXO-TI Course, the EOD assistant's course or certification of the successful completion of a comprehensive assessment from a Department of Education accredited institution of higher education.NOTE: Documentation of course completion or completion of a comprehensive assessment must be provided with application for UXO vacancies.Eight (8) years MEC related experience, that demonstrates a familiarity with the process, procedures and equipment used for conducting MEC-related activities.Graduate of an OSHA-compliant 8-hour management and supervisor training course.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.Ability to maintain effective working relationsh ps with others.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products including, Word, Excel and Outlook.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Must have or obtain OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon start to include,obtaining a Physician's statement indicating a successful pass of the HAZWOPER physical exam, otherwise known as a
