POSITION TITLE: Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator DEPARTMENT:Technical Services LOCATION: Portland, Oregon JOB NUMBER: 2025-1334-02SALARY RANGE: $28 - $38 per hour DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:Opportunity to join an industry leader and trusted first choice inremedial construction and environmental dredging. Sevenson is a nationallyrecognized environmental remediation contractor, ranked No. 4 onEngineering and News Record in the country, working with clients toremediate contaminated sites across the United States. The daily workwill include: ' Control equipment and monitor processes ' Run tests tomake sure that the processes are working correctly ' Keep records ofwater quality and other indicators ' Operate and maintain the pumps andmotors that move water and wastewater through filtration systems 'Adjust the amount of chemicals, such as Sodium Hypochlorite, SodiumHydroxide, and Sulfuric Acid, being added to the water ' Usecomputerized systems to monitor plant processes ' Fix chemical leaks 'Keep records that document compliance ' Perform grounds keeping,including snow removal with plow, snow blower, and shovel; painting ofstructures, pipes, and equipment; and operate various hand and powertools ' Participate in routine custodial duties as needed for buildingand grounds maintenance SKILLS/EXPERIENCE NEEDED: ' Be able to followwritten, spoken instructions and diagrams ' Be able to follow healthand safety regulations ' Be accurate and observant at all times ' Havegood numeracy skills ' Be practical and comfortable using newtechnology, including computers ' Be able to solve problems ' Workwell as part of a team and on their own initiative ' Have a good levelof fitness and stamina ' Be willing to cope with unpleasant smells andsubstances ' Be prepared to work unsocial hours ' Must be available towork on any shift either day or night as the Water Treatment Plant is a24 hour a day, 7 day a week operation ' Must have a working telephonefor callback ' Must obtain Transportation Worker IdentificationCredential (TWIC) ' Must have a valid driver's license ' OSHA HAZWHOPPER certificate a plus SALARY/BENEFITS: An employee's salary isbased on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
