Posting Title: Electrical Engineer Reports To: Supervising Electrical Engineer Location: San Jose, California Salary Range: $118,499 to $155,400 _This position is eligible for the annual performance bonus plan._ Final determination of a successful candidateu2019s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. THE ENGINEERING TEAM With an in-house team of electrical engineers, designers, VDC coordinators and CAD operators, our resources rival those of standalone engineering firms. We are a true provider of turnkey electrical solutionsu2014from design to delivery. As a part of this department, you can expect to work closely with our project management and field installation teams to streamline the construction process. ABOUT THE ROLE Engineer Level 4: A fully competent engineer in the subject matter or the functional areas of the assignments. Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Create innovative approaches to problems. Requires professional experience to assure competence as a professional. Independently performs assignments with instructions as to the general results expected. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval for projects. Includes responsibilities and tasks outlined in Engineer Levels 1 u2013 3. Supervisory Responsibilities: + May supervise other Engineers, Designers or CAD/VDC modelers on assigned work. Essential Job Functions: + Perform design tasks assigned by Lead or Supervising Engineers; report weekly progress and provide estimates for task completion. + Perform complete construction documents, including drawings and specifications/documentation, point-to-point schedules, control diagrams, power studies on hyperscale data centers, conductor heat calculations, and construction support. + Coordinate design with equipment submittals. + Reviews design and follows QAQC processes through the design and construction phases. + Technical resource to other Engineers, Designers, Estimators and Project Managers + Professional responsibility that construction documents meet applicable codes and customer requirements. + Responsible for design coordination with the project manager so that design documents meet project scope requirements. + Perform engineering calculations and complex, hyper-scale, data center power studies. + Attend internal and external meetings - architect, MEP, GC, project manager, and owneru2019s SME coordination. + Complete assignments on schedule + Maintain technical development goals and continuing education credits. + Mentor Designers in technical subject areas. + Obtain Professional Development and Training Other Responsibilities: + Implement the Engineering department's Design and CAD workflows among the team. + Interact and coordinate with CEI's inter-department staff and managers supporting their agenda. + Participate in development of new CEI standards and processes. + Coordinate with CAD Manager for CAD support for the project. + Apply complete conformance of State and NEC CODES to documents. + Provide Conformance to the Standards and processes outlined by the CAD/BIM Manager Knowledge: Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (e.g., dept/peer review). Job Complexity: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Supervision: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead). ABOUT YOU + Basic Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD - MEP/REVIT, ETAP/SKM + Good time-management, communication, and people skills MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS _Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying._ Education: Electrical Engineering or similar Bachelor of Science degree.
