Registered Nurse - Boulder Valley Pulmonology Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303 $32.56 - $48.84 an hour - Full-Time Days, 40 hours per week Boulder Community Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Boulder Valley Pulmonology who will assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the physicians. Responsibilities u2022Performs general nursing and administrative duties including assuming a clinical leadership role where required by providers, managers or the situation. u2022Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes patient histories, vital signs and thoroughly documents in patient chart. u2022Prepares exam and treatment rooms in orderly manner with necessary instruments and supplies. u2022Performs venipunctures and finger stick phlebotomy, throat cultures, urinalysis, EKGu2019s, and other laboratory procedures as directed. u2022Administers immunizations and other injections (including IM, SQ, and intradermal), as well as oral medications as directed. u2022Starts IVu2019s and administers IV fluids and medications as directed. u2022Phones in patient prescriptions and documents accordingly in patient chart. u2022Provides patient education and instruction. u2022Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization. u2022Assists physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals. u2022Pre-certifies and independently schedules inpatient/outpatient tests, surgical procedures, and treatments along with providing patient education/instruction prior to admission. u2022Screens telephone calls for triage/referral, consulting physician as appropriate, and documents activity as per protocol. u2022Informs patients of test results along with follow up instructions. u2022Maintains patient files, records and other information. u2022Performs follow-up with patients on provider ordered care, whether current or future orders in adherence to the corresponding Physician Clinics Orders Policy.
