Qualifications for both PA and NP u2022BLS certification through the American Heart Association required. u2022ACLS certification required by the end of the conditional period. u2022DEA certificate and prescribing and dispensing privileges. u2022Two years of Cardiothoracic Surgery experience required. u2022Robot experience preferred. Responsibilities u2022Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients. Reviews patient records. u2022Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed. u2022Performs complete physical exam and records findings. Establishes presumptive diagnosis. u2022Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. u2022Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention. u2022Prepares written prescription orders for drugs. u2022Assists in transition of care from inpatient to outpatient settings. u2022Completes written sign outs when going of shift and interim summaries when going off service. u2022Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. u2022Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provides patient education. u2022Assists physicians by recording patient progress notes. Issue diagnostic orders and transcribes orders. u2022Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation. u2022Performs independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations. u2022Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat all ages served. u2022Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits. u2022May perform u201cFirst Assistu201d on surgeries as needed u2022Provide post acute follow up care in the Cardiology Clinic About Boulder Community Health and Boulder, Colorado Boulder Community Health (BCH) is a not-for-profit healthcare organization based in Boulder, Colorado.
