General Job Description We are looking for an efficient, courteous Cashier who possesses excellent customer service skills. The Cashier will scan the customer's selections, ensure that prices and quantities are accurate, accept payments, issue receipts, answer inquiries, and provide helpful information to customers products, promotions, or item location. You will also respond to complaints, process refunds or exchanges of items, and maintain a clean workspace. To succeed as a Cashier, you should have a strong work ethic and high level of accuracy. You should be responsible, attentive to customer needs, and committed to providing excellent service. Responsibilities u2022 Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service u2022 Processes sales on a cash register by scanning items, itemizing, and totaling customers' purchases u2022 Resolves customer issues and answers questions u2022 Bags purchases if needed u2022 Itemizes and totals purchases by recording prices, departments, taxable and nontaxable items, and operating a cash register u2022 Enters price changes by referring to price sheets and special sale bulletins u2022 Collects payments by accepting cash, check, or charge payments from customers and makes change for cash customers u2022 Verifies credit acceptance by reviewing and recording driver's license number and operating credit card authorization systems u2022 Provides pricing information by answering questions u2022 Maintains checkout operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes u2022 Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations u2022 Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Education & Skills u2022 Must be 18 years of age or older u2022 Friendly and positive attitude u2022 Excellent customer service and communication skills u2022 Ability to adapt quickly to new policies and procedures in a fast-paced retail environment u2022 Basic math skills u2022 Attention to detail u2022 High school diploma or equivalent preferred u2022 0-1 years of retail experience preferred Hours & Compensation u2022 Able to work a flexible schedule: evenings, weekends, and holidays required u2022 Part time hours available u2022 $12/hour or commensurate with experience HomeBuys, INC. is an equal opportunity employer.
