DescriptionQuick FactsCompensation: $65.00 an hour as bargainedWorking hours: Full-time, hourly,Reports to: Director, Maintenance and RepairIndustry: Marine Terminal Container OperationsJob Functions: IAM Union MechanicThe Journeyman Power Shop Mechanic is responsible for the service and repair of all vehicles and heavy equipment with a special emphasis on RTG's for all Stevedore/Terminal operations in a timely efficient manner.Essential Duties:Removal/Replacement/Troubleshooting of electrical systemsRemoval/Replacement/Troubleshooting of Air Conditioning systemsTracking/Tracing/Troubleshooting of intermittent issues with terminal refrigeration equipmentIdentifying/Rectifying primary and secondary system malfunctionsRemoval/Replacement/Troubleshooting of diagnostic systemsMounting/Dismounting generator using a forkliftTroubleshooting of generator diesel enginesAdditional Responsibilities include the ply with Corporate Safety and IAM Collective Bargaining AgreementThis position description generally describes the principal functions of the position, the level of knowledge and skills typically required and the general scope of responsibility. Experience, Certifications, Credentials):Two years of related schooling or seven years of applicable experienceSelected candidate will be required to be a member of the IAM Union and will be governed by the applicable bargaining unit agreement.Must have current EPA cards and field related toolsObtain and Maintain TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) issued by the Department of Homeland SecurityValid US Driver's LicenseKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesTroubleshoot and repair all types of power equipment, terminal and stevedore, while maintaining a safe work areaBe able to read and follow electrical and hydraulic schematicsBe able to communicate, both verbal and writtenWork as directed by General ForemanMaintain positive attitude amongst colleagues and terminal personnelStay focused under high-pressure situations, including reefer load repairsPhysical Working ConditionsRequires the full use of the person's hands, arms, and legsMust be physically able to work from gangways, stools, ladders, scissor lifts, and reach all without being afraid of heightsUpper body strength to be able to lift heavier parts such as compressors and evaporator coils up to 50 lbsAbility to stand, sits, squatting when necessaryAbility to see and hear fast moving equipmentAble to work all hours 7 days a weekBenefits:One of Husky's core values is People First.
