Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)

Responsibilities & Qualifications RESPONSIBILITIES + Perform site visits for data collection and evaluation of telecommunications and building technologies systems, equipment, components, and materials for projects with and without well-defined scopes. + Maintain Inside Plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber, and all associated elements. + Develop EIPs required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks and testing required during installation. + Current on codes and technologies appropriate to the telecommunications and building technologies and design/construction industry. + Follow JSP and commercial best practice procedures, standards and/or provide Engineering Installation Plans (EIPs) required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks and testing required during installation. + Support the maintenance and clean-up of 1800 or more telecommunication rooms at the Pentagon, Mark Center and NCR, and outlying buildings under JSP operations. Tasks include on-site assessments, weekly reporting of survey findings (barring exceptional circumstances), devising maintenance strategies for improvements, and ensuring compliance with EIA/TIA 568A & 568B Standards and related regulations. + Perform 24/7/365 break fix on all Inside Plant cable infrastructure. + Knowledge of structured cabling systems from an installation and basic design perspective.
