Supervisor, Production

Job Title: Supervisor, Molding Reports To: Manager, Operations Position Location: Charleston, SC FLSA Status (Exempt/Non-Exempt): Exempt Position Summary: The Molding Supervisor manages and performs all tasks involved in the production of parts through injection molding. This includes direct management of production employees engaged in injection molding, packaging and packing. The position is also responsible for planning production for his/her area and coordination of resources with other area supervisors, all while approaching activities with a continuous improvement mindset to maximize throughput while minimizing costs and maintaining a clean and safe workplace. Key Responsibilities: u2022 Deliver manufacturing outputs to quality, time, and cost goals through data driven production planning, labor allocation, and resource management. u2022 Work with Operations Manager to understand overall production volume and mix goals; create production plan for area of responsibility and execute to meet daily expectations. u2022 Work with Operations Manager to establish performance measures for areas of responsibility. u2022 Relentlessly champion quality and safety, employee development, and an unwavering customer focus. u2022 Maintain visible metrics and provide leadership timely and accurate performance information. u2022 Lead with a continuous improvement mindset to improve timeliness of the production schedule, workflow efficiency, just-in-time WIP inventory levels, product quality, and employee effectiveness. u2022 Completes production plan by establishing priorities, scheduling and assigning personnel, revising schedules, and reporting results. u2022 Establish and maintain an environment of continuous improvement. Where appropriate, introduce and evolve best practice techniques such as LEAN, 5S, TOC and value stream mapping u2022 Assist Operations, Procurement, and Shipping departments to ensure timely delivery of finished products to meet established stocking levels and customer shipping requirements. u2022 Actively participate in and facilitate feedback on product design and production processes. u2022 Lead monthly safety team information sessions and provide training, coaching, counseling, and/or improvement recommendations. Document any safety issues or incidents in timely manner and follow through to ensure resolution. u2022 Establish weekly 5S goals and activity with team. Record accomplishments and provide leadership team visibility. u2022 Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules and resolving problems. u2022 Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests. u2022 Be comfortable leading strategy and tactics, making data driven decisions, engaging early in the feasibility stage of new product development and catching developed products for successful commercial launches. u2022 Keeps employees informed as to company and department plans and progress u2022 Manages and reports on operational metrics. Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics u2022 Involved in setting operational budgets and ensuring targets are met u2022 Other duties as assigned. Education: u2022 Associateu2019s degree in Injection Molding or related field from an accredited higher learning institution or equivalent experience Experience: u2022 5 + years of injection molding experience, including large teams and working in a batch and volume production environment. 1-2 years of direct supervisory experience required. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: u2022 A background in Lean Manufacturing skills and hands on experience in continuous improvement initiatives and projects is preferred u2022 Quick learner, ability to pick up and create procedures and processes quickly. u2022 Experience with documentation and revision control. u2022 QA and ISO 9000 compliance experience desired. u2022 Ability to streamline work process/flows for maximum efficiency. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. u2022 Basic knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office products, and the ability to use email. u2022 Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressures, within deadlines or other time essential constraints. u2022 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization. u2022 Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization Compensation & Benefits: u2022 Salary Range: $55,000-$80,000, depending on location, experience, and qualifications. u2022 Benefits coverage begins day 1, including the following: o Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance o Disability Insurance o Life Insurance o 401(k) company match o Paid Time Off (15 days annually) o Paid Holiday time (10 company-designated days) o Tuition Assistance o Additional benefits available with company package This position has not been approved for Relocation Assistance.
