We want your knowledge and expertise Job Summary and Qualifications In collaboration with the patient, the patientu2019s family, and other members of the healthcare team the Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for assisting in the treatment plan to achieve the goals of the patient as outlined by the Physical Therapist. You serve as a key position of the interdependent team, and hold responsibility for achieving positive patient and department outcomes. What you will do in this role: u00b7 You will observe patients before, during and after therapy while noting their status and reporting the results to the Physical Therapist u00b7 You will assist the patient in performing different exercises as outlined in the treatment plan provided by the Physical Therapist u00b7 You will help the patient learn how to use adaptive equipment u00b7 You will provide education to the patient/family and effectively document the therapy process What qualifications you may need: u00b7 Graduation from an accredited school of Physical Therapy Assistance is required u00b7 Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state which you practice, in accordance with law and regulation u00b7 A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required u00b7 Prior acute care and/or inpatient rehab experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is preferred Trident Health is a 445-bed HCA Healthcare hospital system comprised of two acute care hospitals, Trident Medical Center and Summerville Medical Center and three freestanding emergency departments, Brighton Park Emergency, Moncks Corner Medical Center and Centre Pointe Emergency.
