Weekly Hours: 40 Role Number: 200618951-0836 Summary Appleu2019s Graphics, Games, and Machine Learning organization is looking for a highly motivated engineer to help drive the evolution our GPU driver model for Metal, the low-overhead API for accessing the powerful 3D graphics and compute capabilities of the GPUs found in Apple products such as iPhone, iPad, AppleTV, Apple Vision Pro and Mac. Combined with its rich shading language, tight integration of graphics and compute, and unparalleled suite of GPU profiling and debugging tools, Metal accelerates everything from games, 3D content creation, ray tracing, video production, image processing, AR/VR, and machine learning. Description The System Frameworks engineer is responsible for delivering GPU and display driver models, test development, and feature performance analysis across both pre-silicon and production timelines, as well as ongoing support for existing products Minimum Qualifications + Extensive experience with GPU and display system interfaces, both at the hardware and software levels. + Well versed in OS fundamentals such as memory management, scheduling, synchronization, syscalls, IPC, etc. + Detailed knowledge of a GPU hardware architecture, and its capabilities and performance characteristics + Strong communication skills with the ability to influence up, down, and cross-functionally + Excellent software design, problem solving, debugging, and performance analysis ability Preferred Qualifications + Broad experience with complex driver models such as IOKit, WDM and WDDM + Knowledge of current and emerging rendering, ML, and compute optimization techniques is an asset + Exposure to Metal, C/C++, Objective-C/C++, and Swift will be ideal Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
