Four seasons of sunshine In our CRNA role, you will be a critical team member to administer general, regional and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical, obstetrical, and trauma procedures and perform anesthesia-related procedures at the discretion of and under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist. The CRNA will evaluate patients preoperatively and, in consultation with the attending anesthesiologist, formulate and carry out an anesthesia care plan including monitoring and recording patient reaction to anesthesia and modifying the anesthetic plan accordingly. Safely transport patients and provide report to and from an anesthetizing location, ensuring appropriate care during the postoperative period. Finally, be an effective team member and interact with staff and patients in a way that shows respect and consideration for the individual and those around you. Essential Job Functions u2022 At all times works under the medical direction of an Anesthesiologist. u2022 Provides quality patient care considering age specific, developmental and cultural needs through competent anesthesia practice. u2022 Manages patients airway or pulmonary status using techniques such as endotracheal intubation and extubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, and respiratory therapy. u2022 Selects, prepares, or uses equipment, monitors, supplies, or drugs for the administration of anesthetics. u2022 Selects, orders, and administers anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids or blood products. u2022 Performs pre-anesthetic screenings including physical evaluations and patient interviews, and documents results. Monitors patients responses including skin color, pupil dilation, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ventilation, or urine output using invasive and noninvasive techniques. u2022 Responds to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques. u2022 Develops anesthesia care plans. u2022 Obtains informed consent from patients for anesthesia procedures. u2022 Assesses patients medical histories to predict anesthesia response. u2022 Performs and evaluates the results of diagnostic tests such as radiographs (x-rays) and electrocardiograms (EKGs). u2022 Performs or manages regional anesthetic techniques such as local, spinal, epidural, caudal, nerve blocks and intravenous blocks. u2022 Evaluates patients post-surgical or post-anesthesia responses, taking appropriate corrective actions or requesting consultation if complications occur. Administers post-anesthesia medications or fluids to support patients cardiovascular systems. u2022 Discharges patients from post-anesthesia care. u2022 Reads literature, talks with colleagues, and participates in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in nursing. u2022 Performs any other related duties as requested or required. u2022 Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinicu2019s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance. Minimum Qualifications Education u2022 Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Graduate of an accredited/approved CRNA - Masteru2019s program Certifications and Licenses u2022 CRNA certification at hire u2022 RN license at hire Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
