Radiation Therapist - Radiation Oncology - Day

Schedule Full Time, Day Shift (80 hours biweekly) Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm General Summary Provides radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by physician according to established Wellspan Oncology Servile Line standards and practices at a beginning or intermediate specialist skills level. Assists with CT-simulation procedures and/or other treatments/procedures as required. Essential Functions: + Delivers a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients; obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedure. + Checks prescription, diagnosis, chart, patient identification, etc. + Prepares room and equipment for patient. + Reinforces recommendations given to patient by the physician, nurses, dietician, etc., concerning reaction to treatment and care of the radiated area, prevention or treatment of generalized and local side effects. + Observes patient for any unusual reactions or events. + Performs IGRT tumor localization procedures. + Prepares patient and equipment for, and performs simulation procedures.
